Spring Fun RaiserTM

Renegade Cycles are raising money for breast cancer research and awareness by hosting the Renegade Cycles Spring Fun Raiser™ from Thursday 29 October through Sunday 1 November. We are located in The Village Shopping Centre at 43-45 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove.
Renegade Cycles’ Spring Fun Raiser™ includes a four-day sale with 5% of all proceeds being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). On the Thursday evening, Renegade Cycles will host a party for customers to shop during the sale and to bid on various cycling items. The star attraction, which has been generously donated by Mortgage Choice – Lane Cove, is a fabulous week’s stay at a holiday home on the Great Ocean Road near the superb cycling destination of Lorne, Victoria. All the money raised from the silent auctions will be donated to the NBCF. Also, the entire proceeds of a month-long raffle of a customized Trek 4300 women’s mountain bike valued at $1,000 courtesy of Trek Bicycles Australia and Renegade Cycles will also be donated to the NBCF. The NBCF is the leading national not-for profit organization that is dedicated to supporting and promoting high quality research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.
The Foundation is committed to funding high quality research responsive to the needs and interests of women affected by breast cancer. Since being established in 1994, The Foundation has awarded more than $55 million to 230 breast cancer research projects across Australia.
Breast cancer is one of the most commonly occurring cancers in Australian women, with 13,600 new cases expected to be diagnosed this year. But thanks to excellent research, deaths from the disease have decreased by 22% in the last decade, with more women knowing the benefits of early detection and an increase in treatment options.
Renegade Cycles Spring Fun Raiser’s vital contribution ensures the NBCF can keep working towards a cure. 
Another fun activity during the Spring Fun Raiser™ is the Saturday morning social ride from the shop. On 31 October participants are asked to support the NBCF by purchasing a raffle ticket (which will be drawn on Sunday 1 November) and by purchasing and wearing a $2 NBCF pink ribbon during the ride. (New riders are welcome but please go to our Shop Rides page for further information prior to joining the ride.)

About the Silent Auctions
The silent auctions will take place at Renegade Cycles on Thursday 29 October from 5.30pm until around 8.30pm for final bids. All proceeds from the silent auction go to the NBCF. Winning bids are tax deductible so bid freely. The week's stay at the holiday home near Lorne courtesy of Mortgage Choice - Lane Cove is valued at up to $2,000 and is limited to accommodation only. The stay must be taken prior to 30 November 2010. Accommodation is subject to availability. (Most out-of-peak periods (i.e., excluding Christmas and Easter holidays) are currently available.)
We will also be in the first day of our storewide sale and we will be serving complimentary drinks and nibblies throughout the evening. Bring your friends and have some fun! We would appreciate any purchases of Pink Ribbon merchandise and raffle tickets throughout the Spring Fun Raiser™ but especially on the evening.
About the Raffle
Tickets are 1 for $5 or 3 for $10. You may purchase them in the shop or over the phone (02 9427-1055). You may purchase tickets with your credit card if you prefer (Mastercard or Visa). All proceeds go to the NBCF. We will draw the winner on Sunday afternoon (1 November) around 2pm. Winner need not be present. In order to ensure a proper fit, the winner may exchange the bicycle for a different size of the same model. The bicycle is on display in the shop.
