Sustainability

In 2006 we were audited by the Sustainable Cities organisation.  Our "environmental footprint" was deemed to be the equivalent of 140 trees.  Upon completion of their Sydney Northern Communities program, Sustainable Cities presented awards in each of four categories: Economic, Environmental, Social and Cultural.  We were finalists in the first three categories and we wound up winning the Economic Award.

The initiatives we put in place included adjusting air conditioning settings and retrofitting our 120 halogen downlights to compact fluoros.  As  a result our footprint is down to 111 trees.  For more on our initiatives in sustainability see the Village Green Case Study on us.

Lane Cove Council also recognised our efforts in this area.  We received a Citizenship Award for Sustainability, Honourable Mention in May 2007.

National Breast Cancer Foundation

Renegade Cycles is very proud to support the activities of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  Our annual Wine, Women & WheelsTM event which is held in November raises several thousand dollars for their organisation.  Additionally $25 from the sale of each of our new shop jerseys (being released in September 2007) will be donated to this very worthy foundation.
